Sharon Lechter - The Power of a Book - Rich Dad Poor Dad

http://EliteOnlinePublishing.com Sharon Lechter - Importance of a Book - Rich Dad Poor Dad. Why write a book?
Wow, Now the power of the book you know the power of a book and being publishers we are proponents of using a book for your business. Tell us do you think that it is that's useful for a business?
Sharon:
well it's almost imperative today. You know talk about a book is your new business card. Every one of us is an expert. Nobody else has walked in our shoes, nobody else has had our successes or failures learning opportunities and so I tell every audience you are all experts. Now how do you become to go from being an expert to an authority to becoming an authority in your industry and one very strong way to do that is to write a book and it made me as easy as. You know what are the top five questions people ask you in your business? What are the you know like a real estate agent what are the top five things you tell people who want to sell their house? What are the top five things you tell people who are looking for a house and document it write it and then do an e-book. Print on demand but just by the fact that you have a printed book a book that you become an author gives you the ability to become an authority not just an expert.
Melanie:
You know we can ask the question all the time what's the ROI on my book? Am I going to sell a million books and we usually tell people no you're not going to sell thousands of books in general you're going to use the book and as a lead generator to get business. How do you find that and what do you tell authors and business owners about that for the book?
Sharon:
Very few people should expect to really make a fortune from writing a book that is not the intent , not the purpose of the book and certainly in the world of publishing today you want a book to help you establish your authority. It helps you get your message out there. It gives you something that allows you to leverage your message because when you get the book out there people find it they can create speaking opportunities. There is definitely an R O I but you have to work hard you have you know people think they're going to write a book and it's going to sell itself, or they think their publisher is responsible for selling it. As an author you are the one responsible for selling your book, and so don't rely on any publisher just you know they may have marketing plans and you want to hold their feet to the fire to make sure they do that, but you know nobody's more engaged and more desire more excited about having a successful book than you are, and so therefore it inherently is your responsibility to market and continue marketing. ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad’ did not stay on the New York Times bestseller list for seven years because we sat back and dad cocktails. We worked it every day and it's something that as authors as our primary responsibility to be able to leverage our message so that we can reach more people with with the legacy. You know the word that he is on your book Creating your legacy. It is harder it's hard to create a legacy when as one on one communication.
